How we verify a pet policy
Every one of the 239 communities here was read from the property's own website or confirmed with its management. This page says exactly what that means, including what we do not know.
Where the data comes from
First-party sources only: the community's own site, or its management company's. We do not take policy data from the big listing portals — their terms do not allow it, and their "pet friendly" tick box does not answer the question anyway. Every listing links to the page we read, so you can check us.
"Not published" is not "no restrictions"
This is the rule the whole site is built on. Many large management companies publish exact fees and say nothing at all about breeds, leaving that to the individual lease. When a community has not published something, we say so — we never fill the gap with a guess, and a community with an unpublished breed policy never appears on a breed-filtered list.
It also works the other way. We will not record "no breed restrictions" unless there is a page saying so, because that is the sentence most likely to send someone to a leasing office that then rejects them.
How we keep it true
Every record carries the date it was last read, shown on the listing. We re-check the sources on a schedule, and a community whose page stops stating a policy is removed from the lists that depend on it rather than left standing. Corrections from residents and leasing offices go into a queue a person reads — there is a form at the bottom of every listing.
What a badge means

- Someone at the property confirmed it to us directly.

- Taken from the property's own published page on the date shown.
- Confirm before applying
- Old enough that we would not rely on it ourselves.
And still: ring them
